    NSF Fastlane Access

    Research, Sponsored Projects  |  Approved October 9, 2015

    Purpose

    Obtain a National Science Foundation (NSF) Fastlane (Research.gov) account to maintain compliance with applicable federal agency requirements and University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) requirements.

    Applicability

    Principal Investigators or their designees applying for or managing NSF grants.

    Instructions

    1. To obtain a new NSF Fastlane Account,
      1. Complete and submit the UMB Account Request for NIH or NSF (UMB login required). If you do not yet have a UMB ID and password, an administrator or supervisor may complete and submit the form. Provide:
        1. Full name
        2. UMB email address (no gmail, hotmail, etc. addresses);
        3. Rank (graduate student, postdoc, faculty member, staff).
      2. CITS will create your Fastlane account.
      3. Both NSF and CITS will send email messages to you with information that will guide you in logging into your new Fastlane account.
    2. To affiliate an existing Fastlane account with UMB, complete the UMB Account Request for NIH or NSF (UMB login required). Provide the NSF ID for the Fastlane account to be affiliated. CITS will notify you when the account has been affiliated.
